And with the downing of Rotface on Monday (after several weeks of wiping) the Shattered Ravens are are the half-way point in Icecrown Citadel. Of course, it's the easier half of the raid (and we can manage the lower four and Fester without too many hassles now) but it's the first time we've been significantly through endgame raid content while its current so I'm happy. The closest we've been previously was Zul Aman in Burning Crusade where we reached Halazzi (with two more bosses to go) before 3.0 and the nerf bat dropped and things became trivial (though to be fair without Wrynn's  ICC buff we'd still be in the lower part of the citadel)

It's likely to be tough going from here on in. Next up are Putricide, Dreamwalker and the Blood Princes, fight's we've "looked at" and died on miserably, but then it doesn't seem that long ago that Saurfang (or even Marrowgar) were wiping us as quickly. The trick, I think, will be maintaining sufficient impetus to keep interest in the raids as far as the Lich King. We've got 2 or 3 months for this (as I don't envisage Cataclysm dropping before October, and November would fit the pattern of previous releases) so we'll have to see ...

So, Andro is trying to level her cooking and has gone in fits and starts since November 12, reaching the dizzying heights of 448 this last weekend. Things since then seem to have ground to a halt with (at last count) about 70 green items cooked for no skillups (about 30 feasts and 40 Angelfish), which is about 4 days worth of northern spices.

On one level I may just be very unlucky, but I'm wondering if I'm being lied to regarding the difficulty of recipes and that these "greens" are actually "greys" (it wouldn't be the first time Blizz have messed those up). I've always regarded greens as "might" get skillups (so maybe 1/10 or 1/20 chance) but 70 ... come on.

I guess its a deliberate "we won't let you grind this to max" so you're reliant instead on lucky skill ups and constantly doing Dalaran Cooking dailies (for awards to buy the recipies and the mandatory spices) which rather feels like banging ones head against a brick wall ..
