The plague is in abbayance and the cities seem quieter, but the Scourge are still there, their necropoli and crystals attacking at random. Today, I fought them in Tanaris, the Eastern Plague Lands and the Burnings Steppes. A solution must be found - perhaps taking the war back to the Scourge and the traitor-prince who destroyed my homeland?

The plague reached new levels of virulence today with people 'turning' 60 seconds after infection and as a result several cities teetered on the brink. Stormwind was a warzone, as were Shattrath and Ironforge, with the populace facing extinction.
And then the tide turned.
In Shattrath, a new alliance was born. Grand Apothecary Putress appeared and spoke to the horde while Bishop Lazari spoke to the alliance. Each exhorted their people to take news of the alliance, and that a cure for the plague had been found. I travelled to Stormwind with the news, which I delievered - along with a light-infused artefect - to the king himself. Perhaps the worst is over now and the zombie hordes will be beaten back.
NOTE: most of the above is from the Blizzard pre-WotLK event. The Cathedral Refuge and evacuation plans were part of an ad-hoc roleplay session on the Steamwheedle Cartel server. I don't know who precisely was involved (I believe the Scarlet Missionary guild, but I'm not sure) but it was nicely done.
In Stormwind, the Scarlet Missionaries gathered women and children at the Stormwind Cathedral and prepared an exodus via the newly opened port ... but the undead threatened even this. Surely we were doomed ...

Something seems wrong though. I don't trust that Putress as far as I can throw him; I gather from my horde associates that rather than the essence of the light I carried to Stormwind, he's asking people to take plague samples to Undercity. Is he working on a cure, or a better version?

As seemed likely from the nature of the plague, the originators of the zombie infestation have been revealed as the Scourge. As with the arrival of Naxramas in the Eastern Plaguelands, their necropoli have appeared outside the capitals, spying on our movements and the progress of the plague.
Others have appeared elswhere in Azeroth, placing the same strange crystals as several years ago, guarded by undead hordes.
Taking the information to Lights Hope Chapel revealed the extent of the attack underway. Can we prevail?

I heard news of the invasion while in Auchindoun and I teleported to Stormwind to investigate as soon as we emerged. Arriving there, and after battling off more zombies, I was hailed by a representative of the Argent Dawn who, knowing of the Shattered Raven's willingness to throw themselves into a good figh, suggested we investigate Karazhan where a Scourge agent had taken up residence. Assembling a scratch team of Ravens, we promptly investigated and while he proved a tough foe we prevailed and gathered valuable intelligence for the Argent Dawn.

The plague is becoming more virulent and its victims succomb to the infection in scarcely 5 minutes. Many of the healers who protected us have fallen to the plague and so things are on a knife-edge now. Will we fall into chaos, our cities overrun by the zombie hordes?
It seems the infection is worsening; the plague seems to originate with corrupted grain crates (and now seems to be spread by corrupted roaches too) and those infected by the disease turn into zombies after 10 minutes of agony. These are weak creatures, but en-masse they can be deadly. This doesn't seem like an accident - it seems like a Scourge attack akin to the one that doomed poor Prince Arthas.
Thankfully, the healers of the argent dawn are on hand to deal with the plague, and our clerics and paladins stand in opposition to this vile attack

There are rumors of a new plague in Azeroth coming out of Booty Bay. Have those wacky goblins had an accident with their brewing plant?
